Aluna’s Top 5 Books at 11 Months Old

Ever since Aluna was born, we have been reading to her. That was really important to us, as I know it is for many parents. As of late, she has been WAY more interactive with books and is typically bringing them to us to read to her! It’s fun to see how she turns pages now, too! Here are her Top 5 that she has been super into:

This is Baby by Jimmy Fallon: This might be my favorite book of all time now lol The illustrations in this one ARE SO CUTE. We love the animals and babies. It brings such a fun way for baby to learn about their body parts! Aluna loves the “tickling” & “super hugging” the most.

Jimmy Fallon also has to other ones called “Dada” & “Mama”, illustrated by the same illustrator. We have both of them, and they’re more simple with less words, but they’re a great way to teach items, animals, and animal sounds! We also interchange Dada & Mama with “Tatay” & “Nanay” when we read it. There is a Board Book Boxed Set you can get if you want all three!

Making Faces: A First Book of Emotions: This one is so fun to act out. Each page has a photo of a baby with an expression on their face along with another page with several babies, and you need to find the baby that matches. At the end, there is a mirror so they can see themselves! Aluna loves this one, and she thinks it’s so funny when I act angry or surprised.

See, Touch, Feel : A First Sensory Book: This one is colorful, interactive, and it has photos of real babies. (Babies love seeing other babies!). She loves touching the fuzzy teddy bears tummy and running her finger nails along the “xylophone” This one also has a mirror at the end!

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney : This classic is her “bedtime book”. We read it to her EVERY night before she goes to bed, and she always knows that it’s time for sleep. It’s our favorite sweet book. I highly recommend having one sweet book to read daily before bed, it’s just so special!

Puppy Makes Mischief: If you don’t know about Jellycat, then you NEED to! They have the cutest toys, and a lot of the animals have books that have stories about them. This book is one of Aluna’s favorites because the dog looks like one of our dogs, Remy, and we have the Jellycat stuffed animal of the puppy!

This is Baby!

Puppy Makes Mishchief!

Some Runner Ups:

It’s Bitsy Bunny: You can read this one to the tune of “Itsy Bitsy Spider”! Aluna loves this one, I’ve had to read it 12 times in a row before. It’s one of her favorites to “bop” to, I put it in the runner up because it’s an Easter Book!

Any of these Finger Puppet Books : We have several of them, the puppy, llama, and easter bunny. Aluna thinks they are hilarious!

All of her Lovevery Books: This is kind of cheating because I know it’s not a single fifth book, but Aluna is so obsessed with all her Lovevery Books that come with her Play Kits. They’re always age appropriate and have photos of real babies and toddlers. She always manages to find these books, crawl across the room, and tell me she wants me to read them! Lovevery recently came out with new books that you can add as part of a “Book Bundle” to your Playkits. I am actually going back and ordering the old ones (which you can only do if you are a current subscriber!)

I find that board books are the best for her age because they are sturdy, short, and colorful. We have been reading her other books that have the regular paper pages, but most of them have ripped because she is so into turning pages now, so keep that in mind. These are the ones she finds out of her toy bins the most and brings to us, and I hope your baby will love them as much as she does!
